A biography of sorts about William Roache's 50 years (at time of writing in 2010) playing Ken Barlow on the soap Coronation Street. The book does contain details about Roache's personal life but is first and foremost a book about the Street and for that reason I don't think anybody who dislikes Corrie or has never watched it would be interested in this book.
It was an interesting read but nothing really special. It wasn't *that* detailed but flowed pretty well. It contained some bits of trivia and things that I didn't know about. Roache's falling out with colleagues, his libel case and how close he came to being axed. As a Corrie fan it was an entertaining read but perhaps not as good as I anticipated it would be.
